ABC brings together employees who identify as African, Black, Caribbean, and allies to promote and support awareness of the experiences of racialized staff in the organization.

Our Plans:

We plan to host learning events open to all employees in recognition of Black History Month and Emancipation Day, and also a social event at least once in the year for our members. We hope to be focused on enriching the cultural experience of employees and can offer social support and information; particularly for those who are also new to our community.

Meetings:

Our group currently meets every other month for 1- 2 hours at locations convenient for members who are able to attend. Our meetings are informal and welcoming and typically include food from our cultures. We like to spend time to check in with each other and hear about people's experiences in their respective roles and offer support as needed.

For more information about who we are flip through our ABC Handbook.

Here is a list of resources that may help those interested in learning to be allies to ABC.

If you're interested in joining the membership of this employee resource group, or for more information, contact Yvonne, Krista, or email abcatcol@london.ca.
