Culture of Safety

A Culture of Safety is one that supports the management of health and safety as being critical to the wellness of our employees. If you do not feel safe doing your job, you cannot do the best job possible. A strong safety culture is required to meaningfully reduce workplace injuries and illnesses and sustain prevention efforts.

The City's Senior Leadership Team has created a Culture of Safety Task Force to assess our current state and make recommendations for improvement. In November of 2022, the top 15 recommendations provided by the Culture of Safety Task Force were approved by the Senior Leadership Team for implementation. Learn more about the timelines of the implementation timelines, visit the Key Dates on the right hand side of this site.
