About this project

The City of London is currently working with external consultant Entro to create a wayfinding plan for the downtown. The purpose of the Downtown Wayfinding Plan is to provide a comprehensive strategy to help people living, working, and visiting navigate within the downtown.

The objectives of the Downtown Wayfinding Plan include:

  • Improve navigation of individuals within and through the downtown travelling by active modes of transportation (i.e. walking, cycling, rollerblading), by transit, and by car;
  • Improve orientation of individuals within the downtown; and,
  • Provide information that assists with navigation and orientation, but that does not market or promote individual businesses.

The desired outcomes of the Downtown Wayfinding Plan include:

  • Ensuring individuals find their destination(s) easily and successfully;
  • Ensuring individuals can navigate the downtown by active modes of transportation, by transit, and by car;
  • Ensuring individuals understand where they are with respect to other key locations and are able to easily orient themselves; and,
  • Encouraging individuals to discover new places and services.
