About this project

The City will be reconstructing Balcarres Road and Imperial Road to repair the street. Construction is expected to start in 2021.

This spring, you may see City staff in this area marking trees that are planned to be removed due to poor health or construction related issues.

Proposed work details

  • The full road would be removed and reconstructed
  • Repairs would be made to the existing sidewalk on Balcarres Road
  • Catchbasins would be replaced
  • A new curb and gutter would be built
  • New asphalt would be placed
  • Some trees would be removed during this work, and new trees will be planted the following year by the City

The street would remain open to local vehicle traffic with a few possible disruptions to driveway access at different points in the project. Lawns will be restored at the end of the project with topsoil and sod.

For more information about trees and potential impacts, please view the narrated project update or contact the Project Manager.
