Hyde Park SWM Works Assignment ‘A’ – Detailed Design

About this project

The City of London and Stantec Consulting Ltd. are starting the detailed design and tender preparation of various identified works in the Hyde Park EA Addendum (AECOM, 2020).

Since the completion of the 2002 Class EA, the area and regulatory environment has evolved which caused the City to restudy and publish an EA Addendum in 2018. This evolution included changes to development plans and patterns, increased prominence and emphasis on Low Impact Development, increased emphasis on permanent private systems as well as climate change considerations.

This assignment looks to implement several key projects identified in the EA Addendum. Specifically, this assignment will involve the detailed design and tender preparation of the following projects:

  • Expand the storage capacity of Hyde Park SWMF 1 to provide additional erosion and quantity control capacity;
  • Incorporation of natural channel design and ecological enhancements, in accordance with the mitigation/compensation plan from Sarnia Road to Hyde Park SWMF 1B1;
  • A trenchless crossing of the existing CP Rail line, sewer connection from Sarnia Road to the head of the new channel and incorporation of a new multi-use pathway to provide connectivity to the area;
  • Reconfiguring the upper cell of Hyde Park SWMF 1B1 to allow the inlet works for flows from the above mentioned Sarnia Road channel; and
  • Decommission the temporary stormwater facility on Cherrywood Trail (Matthews Hall Facility).
